100 million metres of pipe. One story.

Starting with ISIYER in 1986, the journey has heated 10 million square metres under the PEXa name in 40 years. In that time we have not recorded a single failure caused by the pipe.

Cross-check · the two numbers confirm each other

Stating the number is not enough; you also have to show the calculation.

100.000.000m÷10.000.000m²=10m/m²

10 metres of pipe per square metre means the pipes are laid about 10 cm apart . This is the typical spacing used for living spaces in underfloor heating. So the two big numbers are no coincidence: one is the physical consequence of the other.

  • Pipe length ≈ area ÷ pipe spacing
  • 1 m² ÷ 0.10 m = 10 m of pipe
  • 10 million m² × 10 m/m² = 100 million m
10 cm1 m
1 m² · 10 cm spacing · ≈ 10 m of PEXa pipe (schematic)

The story · from inventor to field

One invention, four generations of buildings.

At the heart of PEXa pipe is the method of cross-linking polyethylene with peroxide. This method turns the molecules into a three-dimensional network and gives the pipe resistance to heat, pressure and time. We have been bringing this material to Türkiye’s buildings for forty years.

“The first step of a 10-million-square-metre journey was taken in his laboratory.”
